Is the ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 4080 Super OC right for you?
You want the 4080 SUPER chip but balk at ROG Strix money. The TUF Gaming OC gives you near-identical performance with a robust, well-built triple-fan cooler at a more sensible price tier.
If your case is small or your PSU is under 750W, this card doesn't fit. And if you're shopping new at full price, the RTX 5080 makes more sense for similar money with better feature support.
Before you buy
For most buyers, yes. The TUF Gaming OC uses the same chip and delivers nearly identical performance, while costing £100 or more less. The Strix earns its premium mostly on cooling acoustics and aesthetics, not raw speed.
Nvidia recommends 850W and that's the floor for reliable operation. With a power-hungry CPU like a Core i9 or Ryzen 9, step up to a quality 1000W unit. Don't try to scrape by with a 750W PSU here.
Only at a meaningful discount versus the RTX 5080. The 4080 SUPER is still a strong 4K card with excellent DLSS 3 support, but it lacks DLSS 4 multi-frame generation. At clearance prices the TUF Gaming OC is a strong value pick.
It's a chunky triple-fan card, though slimmer than the ROG Strix variant. You'll want a mid-tower or larger case with plenty of GPU length and slot clearance. Check your case spec carefully before buying.
