Is the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER right for you?
If you're driving a 1440p monitor, want strong ray tracing and the DLSS 3 ecosystem, and you've found this card at a meaningful discount versus current-gen options, it's a very capable choice.
If you want to keep your card for 5+ years or game at native 4K with heavy ray tracing, 12GB will feel limiting. A card with 16GB or more is a safer long-term bet at this price tier.
Before you buy
Only at a meaningful discount. The card itself is still a strong 1440p performer with great DLSS 3 support, but newer cards like the RTX 5070 and RX 9070 offer better value at full price now.
For most current games at 4K with DLSS, yes. The newest texture-heavy releases push that limit, and modded games can exceed it. For long-term 4K ultra gaming, 16GB cards are a safer choice.
Nvidia recommends 650W, which is plenty for most builds. A quality 650W or higher unit from a reputable brand will have comfortable headroom even with a power-hungry CPU.
If pricing is similar, get the 5070. It offers DLSS 4 multi-frame generation, faster performance, and similar VRAM. The 4070 SUPER only makes sense if it's clearly discounted versus the newer card.
