Where the ASUS PRIME RX9070 XT OC wins and loses
Watch it in action
Is the ASUS PRIME RX9070 XT OC right for you?
If you're running a 1440p monitor and your case isn't huge, the slimmer cooler and sensible price tag make this one of the best ASUS 9070 XT variants. Performance is essentially identical to pricier TUF or ROG Strix versions.
If you want the quietest cooler, the most aggressive factory overclock, or full-tilt path tracing performance, look at the TUF, ROG Strix, or jump ship to a comparable GeForce card with stronger RT.
Before you buy
For most buyers, yes. Performance differences are small since all three use the same chip. The PRIME costs less, fits more cases, and gives up only some cosmetics and a touch of cooling headroom.
It's 2.5 slots thick and slimmer than most partner cards, so it fits most mid-tower and mATX cases. Strict 2-slot only ITX builds still won't accommodate it, so always check your case's GPU clearance.
Only a small one. Factory OCs on partner cards typically deliver a few percent of extra performance over reference clocks. Useful for plug-and-play, but you could match it manually with any non-OC card.
Most quality 650W to 750W PSUs handle the 9070 XT comfortably. AMD's reference uses standard 8-pin PCIe connectors rather than 12VHPWR, so existing builds usually don't need new cabling.
