At a glance
The best Razer products are its gaming mice, and the single best Razer product in the UK is the Razer Viper V4 Pro, at £148.63 on Amazon UK at the time of writing (September 2026). Razer is worth buying for mice, analog optical keyboards and esports headsets: the Razer Viper V4 Pro weighs 50 g in white, polls at 8,000 Hz from the dongle in the box and lasts up to 180 hours at 1,000 Hz, according to Razer, and RTINGS credits it with "exceptional click latency" and "incredible sensor latency".
Razer's weak points are Razer Synapse and after-sales service: Razer's UK Trustpilot rating stood at 2.5 out of 5 in September 2026. Four Razer mice are ranked below, followed by the best Razer headset, keyboard and accessories and a full Razer desk priced at three budgets.
Is Razer a good brand?
Razer is a good brand for mice and competitive peripherals, with caveats on software and support. The Razer Viper V4 Pro's Focus Pro 50K sensor reaches 50,000 DPI, 930 IPS and 90 G, and the Razer Viper V4 Pro and Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro both poll at 8,000 Hz wired and wirelessly, according to Razer.
- Mice (strongest):RTINGS rates the Razer Viper V4 Pro "an outstanding FPS gaming mouse" and the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro "outstanding for playing FPS games".
- Keyboards:Tom's Hardware calls the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Tenkeyless "an excellent alternative" to the Wooting 60HE.
- Headsets:RTINGS measured "almost 70-hour" battery life on the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro and rates its boom microphone "very good".
- Software (weakest):PC Gamer says the desktop Razer Synapse app "is very bloated and consumes a lot of memory".
- Build niggles:RTINGS noted "minor creaking" on the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro, and Tom's Guide calls the Razer Viper V4 Pro's clicks loud.
Cheaper rivals from ATK, Lamzu and Pulsar have closed much of the specification gap, as the Chinese gaming mice vs Logitech and Razer comparison shows. The same brand questions for Razer's two biggest rivals are answered in the best Logitech products UK 2026 and best SteelSeries products UK 2026 guides.

The Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro NiKo Edition costs £149.99 on Amazon UK at the time of writing (September 2026), £20.00 below Razer's £169.99 UK list price for the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro. The NiKo Edition is the standard Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro in a signature finish, rated at 57 g against 56 g for the black model.
Tom's Hardware reports the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro is about 10% lighter than the 63 g DeathAdder V3 Pro, with the same shape, and that a firmware update raised Razer's battery rating from 120 hours at launch to 150 hours at 1,000 Hz. RTINGS judges the shape "only suitable for larger-sized hands", and Tom's Hardware notes owners of a DeathAdder V3 Pro gain little by upgrading. The Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro suits palm-grip players with medium to large hands.

The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K weighs 112 g, more than twice the 50 g Razer Viper V4 Pro, and polls at 1,000 Hz out of the box. 8,000 Hz needs the HyperPolling Wireless Dongle and Mouse Dock Pro, both sold separately, and cuts rated battery life to 28 hours. The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K suits palm-grip buyers who use one mouse for spreadsheets and games.

The savings show in three places: one AA battery instead of USB-C charging, 82 g with that battery fitted, and mechanical switches rated for 60 million clicks. The Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed suits students and first-time buyers who want a wireless Razer mouse for under £60.

Which Razer mouse should I buy? What each step up buys
The Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed at £59.99 is the value point, and the next step worth paying for is the Razer Viper V4 Pro at £148.63, which adds 8,000 Hz in the box, 32 g less weight and optical switches rated for 100 million clicks. Compare Electronic ranked seven current Razer mice by Amazon UK price and set each against the one below it:
| Mouse | Price | Step | Weight | Polling in box | Battery 1,000 Hz | Battery 8,000 Hz | Switches | What the step buys |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Razer DeathAdder Essential | £17.83 | - | 96 g | Wired | - | - | 10M, mechanical | Baseline: wired, 6,400 DPI, 5 programmable buttons |
| Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed | £59.99 | +£42.16 | 82 g | 1,000 Hz | 280 h (AA) | 50 h* | 60M, mechanical | Wireless, 30K sensor, 14 g lighter |
| Razer Basilisk V3 X HyperSpeed | £64.97 | +£4.98 | 110 g | - | 285 h (AA) | - | 60M, mechanical | Bluetooth and RGB, but 28 g heavier and an 18K sensor |
| Razer Viper V3 Pro | £119.99 | +£55.02 | 54 g | 8,000 Hz | 95 h | 17 h | 90M, optical | 8,000 Hz dongle in the box, 56 g lighter, optical switches |
| Razer Viper V4 Pro | £148.63 | +£28.64 | 50 g | 8,000 Hz | 180 h | 45 h | 100M, optical | +85 h at 1,000 Hz, +28 h at 8,000 Hz, 50K sensor |
| Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro | £149.99 | +£1.36 | 57 g | 8,000 Hz | 150 h | 22 h | 100M, optical | Ergonomic palm-grip shape, 30 h less battery |
| Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K | £159.95 | +£9.96 | 112 g | 1,000 Hz | 140 h | 28 h* | 90M, optical | 11 buttons, tilt wheel, Bluetooth, RGB |
Two steps stand out. The £28.64 from the Razer Viper V3 Pro to the Razer Viper V4 Pro buys 85 extra hours at 1,000 Hz, or £0.34 per hour, and 28 extra hours at 8,000 Hz, or £1.02 per hour, which makes the Razer Viper V3 Pro poor value at £119.99. The £4.98 from the Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed to the Razer Basilisk V3 X HyperSpeed buys Bluetooth and RGB but adds 28 g, so the Razer Basilisk V3 X HyperSpeed suits palm-grip office use rather than shooters. The best gaming mice UK 2026 guide sets these Razer mice against every other brand.
Razer DeathAdder vs Viper: which should I buy?
The Razer Viper V4 Pro suits a fingertip or claw grip and the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro suits a palm grip; the two cost £1.36 apart on Amazon UK and share the same Gen-4 optical switches and 8,000 Hz dongle. The Razer Viper V4 Pro is 4.1 mm narrower and 4.1 mm lower than the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro, on Razer's dimensions.
- Shape: the Razer Viper V4 Pro is a right-handed symmetrical mouse at 127.1 x 63.9 x 39.9 mm; the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro is a right-handed ergonomic mouse at 128 x 68 x 44 mm.
- Fit:RTINGS rates the Viper shape suitable for "a variety of hand sizes and grip types" and the DeathAdder V4 Pro "only suitable for larger-sized hands".
- Weight: 49 g to 50 g for the Razer Viper V4 Pro against 56 g to 57 g for the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro.
- Sensor: Focus Pro 50K Gen-3 (930 IPS, 90 G) against Focus Pro 45K Gen-2 (900 IPS, 85 G).
- Battery: 180 hours against 150 hours at 1,000 Hz, and 45 hours against 22 hours at 8,000 Hz.
The Razer Viper V4 Pro wins on weight, battery and sensor, so the DeathAdder earns its place on shape alone: fingers that rest flat along the mouse suit the DeathAdder, and arched fingers suit the Viper.
Is Razer HyperPolling at 8,000 Hz worth it?
For most players, no: 8,000 Hz cuts the interval between mouse reports to the PC from 1 ms to 0.125 ms, but it costs 75% to 85% of battery life on Razer's own figures. TechRadar found the gain "almost imperceptible" in its Razer Viper V4 Pro review, and both V4 Pro mice ship set to 1,000 Hz, according to TechRadar and Tom's Hardware.
| Mouse | 1,000 Hz | 8,000 Hz | Battery lost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Razer Viper V4 Pro | 180 h | 45 h | 75% |
| Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K | 140 h | 28 h* | 80% |
| Razer Viper V3 Pro | 95 h | 17 h | 82% |
| Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed | 280 h | 50 h* | 82% |
| Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro | 150 h | 22 h | 85% |
Razer's Smart Polling Rate Switcher in Razer Synapse raises the rate to 8,000 Hz only while a chosen game runs, which limits the drain. RTINGS notes both V4 Pro mice keep 8,000 Hz when wired. Only the Razer Viper V4 Pro, Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro and Razer Viper V3 Pro include the 8,000 Hz dongle; the Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed and Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K need the Razer HyperPolling Wireless Dongle bought separately.
What are Razer Focus Pro sensors and optical switches?
Focus Pro is Razer's own optical sensor line, and Razer optical switches register a click by breaking a light beam rather than closing a metal contact. PC Gamer notes optical switches are "better for longevity and less prone to problems such as double-click issues", the fault that dogged older mechanical mouse switches.
- Focus Pro 50K Gen-3 (Razer Viper V4 Pro): 50,000 DPI, 930 IPS, 90 G.
- Focus Pro 45K Gen-2(Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro): 45,000 DPI, 900 IPS, 85 G. Tom's Hardware reports clean tracking on hard, soft, hybrid and glass pads.
- Focus Pro 35K Gen-2 and 30K (Razer Viper V3 Pro, Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K, Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed): 750 IPS and 70 G.
- Mouse switches: Gen-4 optical rated for 100 million clicks on both V4 Pro mice, Gen-3 optical for 90 million, and Gen-2 mechanical for 60 million on the Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed and Razer Basilisk V3 X HyperSpeed.
- Keyboard switches: Razer Analog Optical Switches Gen-2 in the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro read key depth for 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm actuation and carry a 100-million keystroke rating.
Sensor ceilings above 30,000 DPI rarely matter: both V4 Pro mice ship with DPI presets from 400 to 6,400, according to Tom's Hardware. The mechanical keyboard switches explainer compares optical, analog and mechanical switches.
What is the best Razer headset?
The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro for PlayStation is the best Razer headset, at £239.00 on Amazon UK at the time of writing (September 2026), and the wired Razer BlackShark V2 X at £39.99 is the best cheap Razer headset.

Razer BlackShark V3 Pro specifications
- Drivers: Razer TriForce Bio-Cellulose 50 mm Drivers Gen-2, 12 Hz to 28 kHz
- Noise cancelling: hybrid ANC
- Microphone: detachable Razer HyperClear Full Band 12 mm
- Connectivity: 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth, usable at the same time
- Battery (PlayStation version): up to 70 hours on PC, 48 hours on PlayStation, 35 hours with Bluetooth also on
- Weight: 367 g
- Spatial audio: THX Spatial Audio on Windows 11 23H2 or later
- Warranty: 2 years
The PlayStation version of the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro works with PS5, PC and Mac and costs £10.99 less than Razer's £249.99 list price for the standard model, so it is the version to buy for a desk shared by a PC and a PS5; Xbox owners need the separate Xbox version. RTINGS measured "almost 70-hour" battery life, rated the boom microphone "very good", and placed the ANC "a couple of tiers below the best". RTINGS also found bass delivery varies for listeners with glasses, long hair or a larger head.

- Razer BlackShark V2 X, £39.99 (best cheap): 240 g, 50 mm TriForce drivers and a 3.5 mm jack for PC, Mac and console controllers. RTINGS says the boom microphone "performs excellently" but rates noise isolation as disappointing, and 7.1 surround needs Windows 11.

What is the best Razer keyboard?
The Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Tenkeyless is the best Razer keyboard, at £159.00 on Amazon UK in a UK layout at the time of writing (September 2026).

Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Tenkeyless specifications
- Switches: Razer Analog Optical Switch Gen-2, rated for 100 million keystrokes
- Actuation: adjustable from 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm; Rapid Trigger resets from 0.1 mm
- Gaming features: Snap Tap, dual-step actuation, analog input
- Polling: 1,000 Hz (a separate 8KHz version exists)
- Keycaps: doubleshot PBT; top case: 5052 brushed aluminium alloy
- Onboard memory: up to 6 profiles; magnetic leatherette wrist rest
- Layout: UK, tenkeyless; detachable USB-C cable
- Warranty: 2 years
Rapid Trigger is the reason to buy: a key resets the moment it rises, as little as 0.1 mm, so repeated strafing inputs fire faster. Tom's Hardware calls the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Tenkeyless "an excellent alternative" to the Wooting 60HE, and names gamepad emulation as the weak spot: support depends on the game, and the keys are "too shallow for a great gamepad experience".

Which other Razer products are worth buying?
The Razer Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition controller, Razer Gigantus V2 mouse mats and Razer Seiren V3 microphones are worth buying, each with a shorter 1-year Razer warranty.
- Razer Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition, £84.99 (Xbox and PC controller): wired over a 3 m USB-C cable, with Hall Effect thumbsticks and triggers, trigger stops, four back buttons and two extra bumpers, at 252 g.

The flagship desk costs £302.75 more again, 4.7 times the budget desk, and buys a 50 g 8,000 Hz mouse, analog optical switches with Rapid Trigger, and ANC. Per year of cover, the Razer Viper V4 Pro costs £74.32 and the Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed £30.00.
Is Razer Synapse 4 any good?
Razer Synapse 4 works, but it remains the weakest part of owning Razer hardware. PC Gamer says the desktop app "is very bloated and consumes a lot of memory", while TechRadar says it is "no longer the annoying bloatware" of earlier versions.
- Platforms:Razer Synapse 4 runs on Windows and macOS, according to Tom's Guide, and is a free download.
- Synapse Web: the Razer Viper V4 Pro can be set up in a browser, but TechRadar reports macros and adaptive polling still need the desktop app.
- Onboard memory: the Razer Viper V4 Pro and Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro store 1 profile, the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K stores 5 and the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro stores 6, so saved settings travel to a PC without Synapse installed.
- Security record: in August 2021 BleepingComputer reported that plugging in a Razer mouse or dongle made Windows run the Razer Synapse installer with SYSTEM privileges, a route to admin rights; Razer committed to a fix.
What warranty does Razer give in the UK, and is its support reliable?
Razer gives 2 years on mice, keyboards and headsets bought in the UK, and 1 year on controllers, mouse mats, microphones and webcams, according to Razer's UK warranty page. The terms are narrower than the length suggests:
- Claims: Razer asks buyers to contact the reseller within 30 days, then to open an RMA at mysupport.razer.com with proof of purchase. The buyer pays postage to Razer; Razer pays return postage.
- Remedy:Razer repairs or exchanges "at its sole option", using new or refurbished parts, and does not offer refunds under the warranty.
- Batteries:"Razer does not provide any warranties for the battery life" of rechargeable batteries, which matters on every wireless mouse and headset here.
- UK law:the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives a 30-day right to reject faulty goods for a full refund from the retailer, and a fault reported within six months is presumed present at delivery. These rights sit alongside Razer's warranty.
- Reputation:Razer's UK Trustpilot rating stood at 2.5 out of 5 in September 2026; rejected warranty claims and slow support are the recurring complaints.
Who should skip Razer?
Laptop users who need Bluetooth on a light mouse, left-handed players and Xbox players who want a wireless headset should look past the Razer picks above.
- Bluetooth users: the Razer Viper V4 Pro and Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro have none; the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K and Razer Basilisk V3 X HyperSpeed do.
- Left-handed players: Razer lists all four ranked mice as right-handed designs.
- Xbox players: the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro for PlayStation and Razer Barracuda X do not support Xbox wirelessly; the wired Razer BlackShark V2 X does.

Razer's hardware earns its reputation; Razer Synapse and after-sales support are where the brand still loses buyers.

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 separately gives a 30-day right to reject faulty goods from the retailer.
