Kevin

Kevin is the founder and editor of Compare Electronic, an independent UK technology newsroom. He writes and edits every buying guide, head-to-head and explainer on the site, and he is the person to contact about any correction.

Before Compare Electronic became a newsroom, Kevin built it as a product comparison database covering nearly 2,000 products across 64 categories, with UK retailer prices and manufacturer specifications for each one. That work is the backbone of the site's buying advice: every recommendation starts from the spec sheet and the UK price, not from a press release.

His specialist areas are PC gaming hardware and the gear competitive players rely on: gaming PCs, monitors, mice, keyboards and headsets. He tracks what professional esports players use and why, and translates that into advice for people buying their first proper setup. He also covers the high-ticket purchases most people agonise over: smartphones, laptops and TVs.

Kevin's rule for every article is simple: answer the reader's question in the first paragraph, name a clear pick, and say what you give up by choosing it.
