Is the MSI NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8G Shadow 2X OC right for you?
If you want strong 1080p high-refresh gaming with current-gen DLSS 4 multi-frame generation in a compact 197mm package, and the 8GB VRAM doesn't worry you, the 5060 SHADOW 2X OC delivers.
If you want 1440p ultra gaming or 16GB+ VRAM for newer texture-heavy releases, the 5060 Ti 16GB or RX 9060 XT 16GB make much more sense. The 5060's 8GB is the long-term constraint.
Before you buy
Both are MSI's value-tier compact dual-fan 5060s with similar specs and identical gaming performance. The difference is mostly cosmetic and minor cooling design. Pick whichever is cheaper or matches your build aesthetic.
If budget allows, the 5060 Ti 16GB is the smarter buy. The extra 8GB VRAM gives real long-term headroom and the 5060 Ti's better performance makes 1440p genuinely viable. The 5060 8GB is strictly 1080p.
Capable at 1440p with DLSS Quality enabled, but the narrow 128-bit bus and 8GB VRAM limit native 1440p in newer AAA. 1080p high-refresh is the genuine sweet spot for this card.
MSI recommends 550W as the floor. Most existing quality 550W or higher PSUs will run this card without an upgrade. The modest 145W TDP makes power requirements undemanding.
