AMD Ryzen desktop CPUs compared

AMD guide

How to choose amd

AMD Ryzen CPUs use the Zen architecture and slot into the AM5 socket on current desktop platforms. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D combines 16 Zen 5 cores with 128 MB of 3D V-Cache. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D pairs 8 cores with stacked cache for the strongest gaming performance per pound.

AM5 platform

AM5 supports Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 chips. Compatible chipsets include X870E, X870, B850, and B650. The platform supports DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0 storage.

3D V-Cache

AMD 3D V-Cache stacks an extra L3 die on top of the CPU. The extra cache feeds the cores with frequently used data and improves frame rates in games that depend on memory access patterns.
